Finally completed, Topaz arrived in Lowestoft for one day, in which we had to debug and commission the systems installed while she was in the builders.

 

After a long day and night debugging, autopilot commissioning took place off Lowestoft as midnight passed.

 

The crew then departed heading for Barrow In Furnace with only 10 minutes of testing done on the autopilot. Less than 2 days later, Topaz arrived in Barrow having completed the entire trip on Autopilot at speeds of upto 31 knots!

We worked in conjuction with the boat builder in their workshops taking on some of the electrical installation which they would normally carry out.

She is intended for the Wind Farm Support market and features Rolls Royce Jet drives giving excellent shallow water performance.

 

As with all of the vessels we do for this client, we work closely with them to specify the system that will serve THEM best, not what we want to sell them. This probably explains why we have a further 3 vessels to do for this client.
